Most of the students are in a belief that getting 65% will settle their life. But the truth is bitter. Karnataka alone produces more than 80,000 Engineering graduates every year and most of them have above average aggregate. Question yourself, what makes you stand away from the crowd?? What makes you special in getting good jobs??
Soft skills??? Yes, soft skills helps you to some extent. But what gives you more chances?? Yes guys, its internship. Grabbing internships while studying is the foremost imprortant aspect for a professional student.
Now the biggest question is How to get a paid internship?
Getting a paid internship is not easy too. Compitation everywhere!! There are many ways to get interships. I will be listing some of them below.
1. This point is only for those who have connection or blood relation working in the same field you like to work for! Go have a chat with them. Ask for a reference. Try to be polite and convince them that you don't expect payment. If you don't have any connection, use LINKDIN and ANGELLIST. These two networks are the best professional networks where you can directly chat with the startups company founders and HRs.
2. If you dont have any referral, do not loose hope. There are many sites that provides internships. Some of them might not be genuine in their work. But there are some online networks that are aimed at providing student internships. Below is the list of some of the online portals that I have personally used.
*Hello Intern
This is the best online platform where you can get lots of opportunities. You have to create a full, clean and impressive profile with all possible details. After registering, login with your account credentials. Based on your interests, skills and searches, a list of available internships will be showed. Apply for them, if your profile is good, there are chances of getting an internship. While applying, some of the companies request to answer the questions like "why should you be hired? What are your expectations?".. Never leave them blank. Try to impress them with your words.
*Lets Intern
Lets intern portal works the same way. But this works only in India where as Hello intern is a global intership providing network. Due to its overloaded options, lets intern portal looks messy. It is owned by a company called Aspiring minds. There are very less chances of getting interships in this site but give it a try.
*Internshala (Recommended)
This is one of the best and top rated internship providers in India. They have online training courses too. I have used internshala more than the other two and have got replys from the companies too. Internshala have got android app too. Easy to use. Create an impressive profile with skills and education mentioned. Login with the app and apply for as many as interships you want. The key thing in internshala is that, they ask some of the common questions while applying for an internship, never leave it blank. Use that opportunity, impress them about why do they need to hire you! You will surely get replys if you have a good profile.

What are Internships?
Internships are the small interval job offers which are preferrably created for the students or for the recent graduates that helps them to gain experience. Why do one need them?
As I mentioned earlier, there is a huge compitation among the fresher graduates. Only few gets core jobs. Some of the graduates will join IT, giving no justifications to their valuable degree. So having a prior experience makes you a shining star. In the place of fresher, if you put EXPERIENCED FRESHER( it means you have undergone training and Internships) in your resume, it makes a huge difference. How to get one??
Getting a paid internship is not that easy. Sometimes, people get confused with Internship and training. If you pay money for them, then don't call it an internship. Its just industrial training. Always prefer internship over industrial training. The company will pay you for your work and will give you the certificate which helps you a lot in making good career. Do not get confused with the training. Sometimes you have to work for free too!Now the biggest question is How to get a paid internship?
